Refining the Style Before Production

By Lucia October 8th, 2026 26 views
The first sample is often where a design becomes easier to understand.

Once a cut & sew underwear sample is made, brands can see the actual shape, proportions and construction instead of working only from drawings or specifications. This makes it easier to decide what should stay and what needs to be adjusted.

A small change to the rise, panel shape, edge treatment or construction can give the product a different result. These adjustments are a normal part of developing a finished style.

For brands, taking the time to refine a sample before bulk production can help create a product that is closer to the original idea and better suited to the collection.

At HI-Apparel, we work through the development stage with brands, making practical adjustments based on the approved design direction and sample feedback.

Good products are not always finished in the first version. Sometimes, the second or third version is where the details really come together.
